COVID-19 is still very much among us

Quincy COVID-19 cases decline from last week’s case count but the Q Is still solidly in the Red Zone.

For the first time since COVID rates declined over the summer in the wake of the first wave of infections hitting the fan last year, Quincy experienced a welcome decline in its number of infections.

While still solidly in the Red Zone, the local infection rate per 100,000 was down by a heartening just short of 15%.

Additionally, the percentage of positive tests among all tests administered dropped by a hair under 10%.

The bad news: Quincy’s testing positive percentage is roughly 7% higher than the statewide average.

Also note that this week Boston joined Hingham and Milton as communities adjacent to or near Quincy in the Yellow Zone.

Quincy. on the other hand and given current trends holding steady, is likely to remain in Red Zone risk for at least several more weeks.
