Quincy City Council to decide on a successor to fill vacant City Council seat.
In the wake of Ward 2 City Coucillor Brad Croall’s recent resignation from office, the City Council will be selecting a successor from among five candidates.
Ironically, a decade ago the City Council selected Francis Orlando to replace longtime Ward 2 Councillor Dan “Spanky” Raymondi when he resigned the seat in 2011 to take a very much city pension boosting position as the Commissioner of Public Works.
The only difference this time is that the City Council will apparently not be precluding Croall’s to be appointed successor to run for election to a full term in office as the Ward 2 ward heeler as was the case when Mr. Orlando was appointed to succeed Spanky.
Accordingly, all locals in addition to the residents of Ward 2 should be watching closing to see who is appointed.
For example, a suspected Koch Maladminisration favorite who has what Quincy Quarry News can only properly view as a disqualifying “do you know who I am” problem but which probably means that this candidate is on the shortlist to score the appointment.
On top of the wide range of entirely valid concerns that the council will soon become even more supine opposite the Koch Maladministration, rumors are rife that the Ward 1 ward heeler will soon be scoring a Spanky grade pension pop via this ward heeler’s looking likely to similarly be named as the next City of Quincy Department of Public Works Commissioner even if he has no obvious merely but plausible understanding of or any practical experience with civil engineering matters and as was similarly the case with Spanky.
After all, we’re talking the Q.
And yet an ever-decreasingly small number of locals still question while Quincy Quarry News refers to the City of Quincy actual point of governance as the Koch Maldaminstration.
