Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap: Oh what a week it was!
Last Friday the Boston Police came to Quincy to investigate the discovery of a fatal gunshot victim found in Marina Bay.
In turn, not only did Quincy Quarry scoop all of the regional media to break the story given one of the Quarry’s Citizen Journalists stepping up to the plate, but also the Quarry scooped the Quincy Police Department’s putting out an official statement about the fatal shooting.
Then again, Quincy Quarry’s ever-growing legions of loyal readers know that it is the news source to turn to whenever news breaks badly and as it all too often does in the Q.
For example, in the wake of recent ongoing Quincy Quarry coverage, the recently MIA Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch announced his return to City Hall earlier this week after first being stricken by COVID-19 some unacknowledged weeks ago and then having to quarantine at his home during his recovery.
No idea yet, however, if his yet again going on the down-low as regards this time not acknowledging his hors de combat status might pose problems with statutory mandates both in general as well as given that the COVID-19 pandemic has continued to worsen each and every week in recent weeks.
Not that Mayor Koch’s absence made any difference in the way that things typically stumble along inside of Quincy’s City Hall.
For example, the City of Quincy’s now-former Public Health Department Commissioner left the post last week at a time when the pandemic is raging but a replacement has yet to be hired.
Granted, someone who had been offered the job turned it down per the mayor’s mouthpiece Pinocchio Walkbacker when he was pressed about lining up a successor at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, however, a vacancy is still a vacancy.
That as well as a vacancy during the worst so far time in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Embarrassment for Walkbacker notwithstanding, what Quincy Quarry cannot fathom is how Walkbacker has not already bled out given all of the spears that he has been tasked to catch over the years but which all but never has he managed to make a clean catch in spite of considerable, well, practice.
At least not any clean catches per the unrelenting gimlet eyes of Quincy Quarry News’ White Knights facing off against the forces of darkness.
