Soon to be former City of Quincy Health Department Commissioner
A City of Quincy headshot

The City of Quincy Health Department Commissioner is retiring during the height of COVID-19 pandemic.

After a long career in various and often distinguished nursing roles, the current Commissioner of the City of Quincy Public Health Department will be stepping aside before the end of the month, if not well before the end of the month.

So far, this no known word as to who will be succeeding the outgoing commissioner.

Additionally, while Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch went on and on and on even more feting the efforts of the soon to be retiring Health Commissioner, one cannot help but conversely wonder why he expended so many words talking up the outgoing commissioner rather than endeavoring to instead talk her into holding off her retirement for but a few months until enough COVID-19 vaccinations are administered and the current pandemic health crisis is then expected to abate.

After all, changing horses midstream, much less in the middle of the surging torrent of the COVID-19 pandemic, is not recommended.
