Giant New York City rats overtaking Central Park and the Upper West Side.

In news which will surely engender commiseration from those who have to deal with the horde of rats in Quincy Center and especially the two-legged ones inside of the Quincy’s City Hall, New Yorkers are experiencing both population and size explosions of its rats.

How considerable is the kvetching?

Complaints about rats to the City of New York’s 311 hotline have totaled 12,632 to date, a third more than the 9,042 for all of 2019 and with seven weeks to go for 2020.

In turn, upwards of 15,000 complaints by year end is thus well within the realm of possibility.

The reasons are simple, an increase in available food to forage given the COVID-19 pandemic fueled by the all but invariably inept responses by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio which have given rise to a likely record setting plague of rats.

Again, sound familiar?
