Neighbors rally around a Quincy family after fatal crash kills family matriarch.
The deceased is survived by a husband and two children.
Earlier this month, the deceased was struck and killed near the Wollatson MBTA Red Line station.
So far, no one has been cited; however, a police investigation is said to still be underway.
This latest local pedestrian fatality puts Quincy on track for setting a new record for local pedestrian fatalities, if not has already done so, per Quincy Quarry’s unofficial monitoring and with almost two months left to go in the annus horribilis that has been 2020.
Further troubling is how this likely to be a new record for local pedestrian fatalities is occurring while vehicular traffic has greatly reduced during most of this year given the COVID-19 pandemic.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help raise money for the victim’s family so as to help out with funeral and legal expenses.
As of the publication of this Quincy Quarry article, 349 donors have provided over a bit over two-thirds of the goal of $30,000.
Accordingly, it would thus be greatly appreciated that others yet who can also help out also do so.

The traffic is worse now than ever. It can take 45 minutes from Squantum to the expressway. I’ve lived in QUINCY for 50 years and it seems very overcrowded. Pedestrians just don’t have a chance.
