Is Quincy’s moribund economy about to perhaps make a move towards recovery after its all but innumerable massage parlors and nail shops reopen on Monday?
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has approved the Phase 2, Step 2 staged reopening of a wide variety of Massachusetts businesses to go forward on Monday.

Important – if not all but essential – to Quincy’s local small business activity will be Monday’s reopening of nail salons and “massage therapy” providers as Quincy is the South Shore’s putative capital for both.
In fact, the news crew at Quincy Quarry News is planning to celebrate the reopening of nail shops with an office team building pedicure outing.
Additionally, some of the hounds on the Quarry news team can only be assumed to soon be seeking the release of tension built up during the several months-long pandemic shelter in place order.
After all, the pay scales at Quincy Quarry News are woefully inadequate for one to be able to afford house calls during the many weeks of pandemic business closures on top of having to also arrange for the coast to be clear given that Quincy’s last remaining affordable motel has been all but all closed up for the duration.
And as for other approved business reopenings, they include socially distant indoor dining, tanning salons, tattoo parlors and thus the need to concurrently approve both skincare service as well as electrolysis studios, and personal training – all of which are locally in demand services with the last one especially so given the steadily improving access to dining options and in the wake of months of dining on pizza to go.
Also beneficial for at least one local hard to fit figure, retail clothing stores can reopen their fitting rooms by appointment.
