Fathers’ Day fun fact!

Then United States’ President Richard Nixon made Fathers’ Day an official holiday in 1972.

While Fathers’ Day had been celebrated for at least sixty years when Nixon made it official, celebrating mothers on a scheduled basis conversely goes back to at least Roman times, subsequently by various national church members of the Anglican Communion on Mothering Sunday, and officially as a secular holiday in the United States in 1914 via a formal proclamation by then President Woodrow Wilson.
