Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker extends orders to stay at home and nonessential businesses by one day.

In a last minute executive order on Friday, Governor Baker ordered the ongoing COViD-19 stay at home emergency order extended by a day so as to avoid likely chaos.

Specifically, given that the now former standing order was set to expire at midnight on Sunday and thus before when the governor is now planning to release his long anticipated four step plan to carefully reopen the Commonwealth towards a COVID-19 new normal.

To date, details about Governor Baker’s reopening plan have been kept under tighter wrap than a gender reveal, if not also still work in process.

Even so, the governor has already received criticism from both sides.

On one hand are those apparently ignorant of the fact that Massachusetts is running a close second to Connecticut as the state with the states with the highest COVID-19 death rates on a proper population size adjusted basis.

And on the other hand, others are calling for an extension of the orders until June 11.
