Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap: Oh what a week it was!

Even for those with long-held as well as well-warranted jaded views about the comings, goings, and especially the doings in Quincy, it has been quite a week.

For example, MBTA Transit Police busted Dan Flynn for attempting to rob a Brink’s armored car worker who was in the process of reloading an ATM with cash at South Station.

Unfortunately, this Dan Flynn was not Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s lifelong bff Daniel J. FlynnFlam and who is still residing at a Club Fed near Philadelphia until just before Thanksgiving.

And for the looking to be the Charlie Foxtrot of at least next week, Mayor Koch has announced plans to reopen for public use recreational facilities at twenty-two parks in Quincy this coming Monday.

So what, apparently, for the fact that last weekend local officials failed to see that people were kept off of closed by order of Governor Baker Wollaston Beach.

Then again, what could possibly go wrong?

Let Quincy Quarry recount the ways ….

But there is some good news.

The long and often out of service parking fee payment kiosks are once again out of service at the relatively new $46 million Hancock parking garage in Quincy Center.

Free parking, free Willie – whatever …

Granted, while parking revenue may well now fail to cover the nut on the debt service on the note the the Koch Maladministration took out to pay for
the construction of the garage, at least some good news: free public garage parking is now available for the few commuters still commuting to work on the Red Line or Commuter Rail via the T’s Quincy Center station.

And for the big win of good news – especially for the ever-growing legions of loyal Quincy Quarry readers, the Quarry has reached an agreement to host the video of an alternative source for video of Quincy City Council meetings given that these meetings have moved from old school physical meetings to virtual meetings facilitated via Zoom given the Coronations pandemic.

What could possibly go wrong?

For but one example ...

Needless to say, count on Quincy Quarry to cover thugs as new ones hit the fan and hit we know that they will..

After all, we’re talking the Q.
