Then again, knowing both the makeup and drinking habits of the membership of the Great and General Court of the Commonwealth, it was all but a given that the state legislature would quickly approve Governor Baker’s proposal to allow restaurants with alcoholic beverage licenses to sell beer and wine with takeout orders so long as they confirm that the buyer is of legal age and the adult libations sold are still sealed in their original packaging.
