Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia staves off a Fall River City council bid to remove him from office.
Jasiel Correia II will continue to serve as Fall River’s mayor.
Correia, who is facing both twenty-four felony counts care of two federal indictments as well as a steep uphill re-election battle, won a small and probably but short reprieve on Thursday when a Superior Court judge ruled against the Fall River City Council’s bid to temporarily remove him from office.
Even so, one can still only assume that Correria will first end up a cooked lame duck as of mayoral election day in Fall River next month and eventually then most likely an extended stay “guest” at a Club Fed.
A long extended stay.
