MBTA announces Braintree Red Line service back to normal.
After over three month after a Red Line train car derailment laid waste to Red Line train control equipment, yesterday afternoon the MBTA announced that the final set of needed repairs has been completed and Red Line service is now back to “its pre-derailment service levels …”
We know this has been a trying few months for our Red Line riders. That is why we are pleased to announce the full restoration of service as of September 23. The Red Line is now back to its pre-derailment service levels across the Line – on both the Braintree & Ashmont Branches. pic.twitter.com/pFWIufpS01

While likely unintended, Quincy Quarry still feel that the T deserves some props for noting that Red Line service is back to “pre-derailment service levels …” as opposed to – for example – claiming it to be fully restored.
That and having the good sense to have previously announced a (worst case scenario, ed.) repair completion date and then have the good luck to then actually manage to finish up the needed repairs a bit ahead of it after announcing earlier that a theoretical return of service would be restored by the middle of last month.
