– News about Quincy from Quincy Quarry News.
Quincy survives biggest snowfall of this winter season.
Last night’s several inch snowfall fell quietly overnight and so resulted in perhaps the most snowfall this season.
Quincy Quarry saw to it that unlucky Quarry personel assigned to holiday weekend coverage were out and about on the ever-increasingly mean and today snow-covered streets of Quincy.
.
Fortunately, today is Presidents Day and thus many people were so enjoying a Monday holiday. That and this week is winter school vacation week.
Also fortunate is how City of Quincy employees workers and contract workers were generally willing to clear what was a fluffy and light snowfall.
Then again, overnight holiday weekend pay surely provided at least some motivation to certain parties.
Regardless, street clearing was reasonably well along shortly before sunrise, albeit not necessarily cleared curb to curb.
Then again, the usual cleared curb to curb clearing of snow from the City Hall VIP parking lot was accomplished before sunrise as per usual snow job practices even if City Hall was closed for the Presidents Day holiday.
Similarly also enjoying a thorough clearing was the entrance to City Hall.
Elsewhere around town at city properties, however, probably not so much.
