Limiting time using social media use can reduce loneliness and depression.
The idea that social media can be harmful to mental and emotional well-being is not a new one.
Unfortunately, little has been done by researchers to directly measure the impact of social media upon mental health.
A new and looking to actually be a properly designed for a change social science experiment study for a change out of Penn State, however, now directly links more social media use to worse emotional states as well as that conversely less use gives rise to better mental well-being.
In turn, the study suggested limiting time spent on social media, including considering set times out.
Unfortunately, it did not address how to deal with trolls.
As such, here is hoping for a follow up study that offers up suggestions to deal with this invidious internet scrounge..
