Salem Police helping out both the Quincy Department of Public Works as well as the Quincy Police Department on local construction projects?
Courtesy of a dime dropped as well as smartphone picture texted to Quincy Quarry by one of its many Citizen Photojournalists, Quincy appears to be subject to a mystery involving the putative home of Halloween and hobgoblins: Salem, Massachusetts.
The mystery: why is the Salem Police Department apparently involved in ordering no parking zones in parking-scarce Quincy?
Is the Quincy Police Department also as dysfunctional as the Quincy Park and Forestry Department?
Quincy Quarry has several theories to explain what is happening in Quincy.
One is that perhaps City of Quincy officials are finally endeavoring to save some money by recycling temporary no parking signs.
After all, Quincy Quarry is well-aware of how certain city employees continue to love just riding around all day in their mostly near new city rides; accordingly, why not send them on a road trip to Salem and so at least affect doing something ostensibly productive while driving about on the clock.
And as for a second possible explanation, one of the spotted Salem Police no parking signs was spotted at a sidewalk replacement construction project near the Mount Wollaston Cemetery, and thus perhaps an otherworldly poltergeist might be involved.
Next, as one of the mysterious signs from Salem was found next to Quincy High School, perhaps at least this particular unexplained appearance of a Salem Police Department no parking sign might be a student prank.
And finally, perhaps a private contractor that has been engaged to replace city sidewalks on behalf of the apparently also overburdened City of Quincy Department of Public Works has perhaps been taking liberties with proper protocols.
Quincy Quarry considered reached out to City of Quincy officials for comment, only to figure why bother ending up ignored yet again.
