What does David Pecker’s immunity deal mean for President Donald Trump?
The National Enquirer boss’s deal appears to be more bad news for President Donald Trump in what has been a very very very bad week for him.
First, now-President Trump’s onetime campaign manger was found guilty on eight counts on Wednesday in his first criminal trial trail while Trump’s longtime personal attorney and fixer concurrently copped a plea in another federal courthouse.
And now the President’s longtime media and personal friend as well as story catch and kill master nonpareil David Pecker has struck an immunity deal with federal special prosecutor Robert Mueller.

Even worse, in late breaking badly bad news© late yesterday afternoon just as we headed into the usually quiet weekend news cycle, Allen Weisselberg, the Trump Organization’s longtime Chief Financial Officer as well as Trump’s personal tax preparer, has apparently also cut an immunity deal with Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller.
“What we have right now is a campaign finance issue,” said Joyce Vance, a 25-year former federal prosecutor and U.S. Attorney for Alabama in the Obama administration. “But there’s a whole amusement park of potential crimes out there given what we know about Donald Trump, and Weisselberg is the guy who knows where the entrance is and has the roadmap of it.”

“This is extraordinarily bad news for Trump given that all of the Trump Organization money, and Trump’s own, passed across (Weisselberg’s) desk,” said David Cay Johnston, author of the 2016 book, “The Making of Donald Trump.”
