Another Massachusetts State trooper pleads guilty in overtime probe.
One of the six indicted so far Massachusetts state troopers is the second trooper to plead out rather than face trial over allegations of overtime pay abuse.
The trooper is a Braintree resident formerly assigned to the now former Troop E troop assigned to patrol the Massachusetts Turnpike as well as various roadways, bridges and tunnels in the Boston area.
This now-admitted crook was put on suspension in March of this year.
This trooper has a local tie as his attorney was the lead attorney in the unsuccessful defense of Quincy’s now-convicted former police department dipper.
Apparently this trooper, however, had the good sense to plead out and so avoid the considerable expense of going down in flames in court.
In the meanwhile, the four other troopers who are still under indictments are claiming they are going to trial.
That and how forty more troopers under review and out on suspension if not already retired are surely not sleeping all that well these days.
