Former State Senate President Stan Rosenberg’s Husband Indicted on Felony Sexual Assault Charges.
These charges would appears to be the first felony indictments in any arguable #MeToo situation to date as former Massachusetts State Senate President Stan Rosenberg’s husband has been indicted on five felony counts by a grand jury after months of investigation.
Bryon Hefner has been under investigation since several men accused him of assault and harassment late last year.
The scandal forced Rosenberg to step down as state Senate president earlier this year.
“These are serious charges. They are now being handled by the judicial system. I have faith in that system and trust that it will adjudicate this case fairly,” said Rosenberg, an Amherst Democrat, via a statement on Thursday.
Still a state senator Rosenberg has consistently professed ignorance of his now-estranged husband’s alleged misdeeds. Barring evidence to the contrary, Rosenberg should be taken at his word as everyone knows that the husband is always the last one to know.
Byron Hefner, on the other hand, has since checked himself into a treatment center as well as has separated from Rosenberg.
Hefner is scheduled to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court on April 24. Unknown at this point, however, is if he be out of rehab in time for his arraignment.

Bryon attended not just some events and fundraisers with Rosenberg; he attended ALL of them. They lived together and socialized together. Bryon also spent an inordinate amount of time in Rosenberg’s office and in the Senate Gallery. So when is it that Bryon engaged in these dalliances that Rosenberg didn’t know about them?
