Quincy Fire Department fire engine sinks into sinkhole.

Shortly after 11 PM on Sunday past, Quincy Fire Department Engine Number 6 sank in a sinkhole while responding to a burst water pipe call near the corner of Fensmere Road and Sea Street in Hough’s Neck.

Apparently, no one who works for the Department of Public Works was available to respond.

In any event, given that yesterday a Quincy Police Department cruiser burst into flames while parked at police headquarters and how everyone knows that accidents happen in threes, one cannot help but wonder what disaster will next strike first respondents in the Q.
