Quincy Police Detail coverage missing post Double Dipper conviction?
While out on the ever increasing mean streets of Quincy looking for news, Quincy Quarry News personnel happened upon an utility crew coning and otherwise impacting traffic Saturday morning on one of Quincy’s major arterial.
Nowhere, however, was there any sign of a police detail on the scene. Quincy Quarry considered seeking comment; however, with no officer on the scene there was no one available to ask.
In light of a recent vehicle strike of a utility worker working in Quincy Center, one can only wonder where the appropriate union shop steward might be as – clearly – this utility crew was placing itself in harm’s way, especially as this somewhat blind spot in the road is the site of a pedestrian fatality in 2010.
That and an off duty police officer crashing his personal ride some years earlier into the porch of a residential building on the corner of this problematic intersection on his way home from a social gathering.
In any event, one can only reasonably opine that perhaps local police officers are chary of facing even the hint of a glint of the possibility of incurring massive legal bills after working a detail in Quincy in the wake the conviction earlier this week of Quincy’s double and sometimes even triple dipper.
Conversely, perhaps the police detail was on a Dunkie’s run as well as also treating everyone working at this work site.
In any event, count on Quincy Quarry to monitor the scene for future developments and/or if there is yet another accident at this location.
