Recently release information on cyber-reviews conducted by US intelligence agencies have found indications of Russian attempts to access United States voter registration databases and such across most of the country.

Fortunately, given the largely locally and thus often arguably chaotically maintained voter data as well as often so resultant breaks in the electronic trails, voter data are ironically thus relatively secure as far as regards attempts to game actual voting by voters.

In turn, so much for calls by some for moving towards centralized voter registration and thus reducing the number of points of attacks.

Not mentioned, however, are the problems addressed over a year and a half ago in a hard-hitting Quincy Quarry exposé.

Specifically, the Quarry detailed how the greater potential for corrupting vote tallies is at the local level given the vulnerability of many models of voting machines to gaming.
