And speaking about the less than aware, the Koch Maladministration slipped it to locals yet again this week while many local were out of town for the spring school vacation week break or otherwise distracted by their progeny.

This latest swiving of local taxpayers was via the maladministration’s late at night as well as unscheduled securing of the approval of a Land Disposal Agreement with controversial out of town interests who have bought up much of Quincy Center in recent years.

Following the money

Fortunately, given sage as well as relentless analysis by the Quincy Quarry Financial Affairs desk, the Quarry has followed the money and so found that these developers are looking to enjoy several million dollars in financial benefits that will all but assuredly ultimately as well as variously be subsidized mostly by local taxpayers.

Whether or not, however, Quincy Quarry’s exclusive disclosure of these findings will be enough to head off the underlying sweetheart lease deal as well as other deals handed out by the Koch Maladministration remains to be seen.

In the meanwhile, the benefits so grifted include a wicked fat parking sublet arbitration opportunity as well as ducking all manner of otherwise to be expected business expenses during the first eight years of a sweetheart parking lease deal which relies on the out of town interests’ wicked cheap access to parking spaces in a proposed new taxpayer-funded parking garage.

Additionally, further millions in similar benefits are also anticipated to accrue to these developers in subsequent decades courtesy of the way that the sweetheart parking lease will likely play out in the out years.

Pay for pay in MA?

Conversely, however, it is surely but coincidental that these out of town interests and their allied parties have contributed almost sixty thousand dollars to Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s campaign fund in recent years.

Also surely but coincidental is the roughly fifteen thousand dollars more that these out of town interests have further contributed to other local elected officials.

Further surely coincidental is how the principals behind all of the money showered upon local politicians as well as other often similarly suspect hacks were hit last fall a ten thousand fine by the Office of Campaign and Political Finance for making illegal straw contributions through a third party to Mayor Thomas P. Koch, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healy.

Then again, the Koch Maladministration having to disgorge illegal straw donor campaign contributions is hardly news.

That and the ever growing legions of loyal Quincy Quarry readers would be well advised to not be surprised if even more such sanctions are imposed in both the near as well as more distant future.
