State Police helicopter in rooftop police response near Quincy Center T Station.

On an otherwise quiet, sunny and crisp afternoon, a State Police helicopter as well as numerous Quincy Police, MBTA Police and State Police cruisers responded to the scene at the Quincy Center MBTA station.

Similarly, a number of mostly newscopters were seen loitering aloft at some distance above both the scene as well as the State Police helicopter that was flying at near rooftop levels over Quincy Center.

Preliminary reports indicate a shot or perhaps shots fired during yet another alleged bank robbery of a Quincy Center bank. 

As to why the police response effort appeared to have been focused at the nearby Quincy Center MBTA station is unclear at this time.

At the same time, Quincy Quarry has heard as yet unconfirmed word that nearby Quincy High School was ordered locked down just as the school day was about to end.
