Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap: Fall is falling fast upon the Q!
For example, City officials are pressing hard to (perhaps finally, ed.) see the completion of the Hancock Street Misalignment project in Quincy Center by the start of the starting to become too cold to work outside holiday season.
Unfortunately for long suffering Quincy Center businesses, however, the project was originally supposed to be completed around this time LAST YEAR.
As such, in the mad dash to perhaps finally finish the roadwork, work quality would appear to be slipping, not to mention that Quincy Center now literally has its own expensive Big Dig money pit.
Then again, such is only to be expected when planning is planned with all of the effectiveness of a committee tasked to design a camel.
And for a related additional sodding of local taxpayers, the Koch Maladministration has announced that yet another temporary sodding of the long pending site for Adams Green in front of City Hall will (probably soon, ed) be laid shortly given that the Maladministration continues to not have the funds to complete the permanent plans for Adams Green.
Depending on how one counts things, this is at least the third sodding of both the front of City Hall as well as especially yet another sodding of local taxpayers.
And as for someday (perhaps, ed.) actually constructing Adams Green as long promised, figure on City Hall needing to scrounge up around ten million to perhaps as many as fifteen million to complete the but acre and half park on top of many millions already spent.
In the meanwhile, other than the sound of millions continuing to go down storm drains all over Quincy Center as well as elsewhere in the Q, things have generally been as quiet the sound of falling leaves in the fall this past week.
Needless to say, this autumnal quietude won’t last.
And when it does come to a loudly crashing end, expect Quincy Quarry to exposé it as only the Quarry can as well as regularly does.
