Quincy Center sideways streetlight nears its first anniversary of being knocked sideways.

In spite of nearly a year’s worth of exposés by Quincy Quarry about this particular knocked sideways streetlight as well as numerous Koch Maladministration assurances that its new this fiscal year Traffic, Parking, Alarm and Light Department would be hitting the ground running to address the myriad of problems locally with traffic, parking, alarms and streetlights, this long precariously leaning streetlight continues to pose a clear and present danger to public safety.

Then again, so too continue to be all manner of problems locally with traffic, parking, alarms and other streetlights.

In the meanwhile, Quincy Quarry is considering throwing an anniversary party for this particular broken streetlight and which is only proper for newspaper to do as paper is the traditional first anniversary gift.

That and host the party somewhere other than within the radius of the potential danger zone should this streetlight finally fall.

Whether or most likely not the City of Quincy spoils this anniversary party by finally at least removing this dangerously leaning streetlight remains to be seen.
