Quincy Center Streetlight still sideways.
The long ago knocked sideways streetlight along Hannon Parkway is still sideways eight months after it knocked sideways by a motor vehicle.
Also note that it has been a full month since Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch launched his latest coat holder-headed new city department: Traffic, Parking, Alarm and Light – or “TPAL” for short.
As must also be noted, Mayor Koch has claimed TPAL will both take care of such matters as well as do so more quickly than the far from quick past practices by the city.
Quincy Quarry considered reaching out to the new head of TPAL for comment as to when this or any of the many other streetlight problems in Quincy might finally be fixed.
Upon reflection, however, it was decided why bother as most likely any action taken sooner than within eight months time of nothing happening during the old system would be claimed as an operational performance improvement under the new and supposedly improved system of even more bureaucracy.
Plus, as the City of Quincy has yet to put up any contact information for the new TPAL Department on the city’s website – much less a webpage for the new department, it is thus impossible to know how to readily contact anyone at TPAL for comment.
Regardless, expect Quincy Quarry to continue exposing this lax sense of urgency as well as the related lack of concern about the myriad of related as well as variously problematic public safety concerns.
