El Chapo busted via his own vanity.
Mexican authorities yet again busted major drug king Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán.
This time El Chapo was captured in Los Mochis – a relatively sleepy seaside city roughly 250 miles south of Hermosillo, the state capital of that state of Sonora – thanks in part to El Chapo’s desire to make a biographic picture about his life.
While his movie plans would appear to be at least postponed, his capture was straight out of an action movie.
Among other things, five  suspects were killed in a bloody shootout, six more suspects were arrested and one Mexican Navy assault team member was injured.

And in an especially prime cinematic turn of events eerily similar to the epic closing chase in the cinematic masterpiece The Third Man, El Chapo and his head of security tried to escape through the local sewer system, only to end up arrested as opposed to gunned down as was the fictional drug dealer Harry Lime.
Whether – or not – El Chapo stays in custody once and for all remains to be seen.  As such, U.S. officials are yet again as well as (finally, ed.) Mexican officials are also seeking to facilitate extradition of Guzmán to face incarceration an eventual trial in the United States wherein bribery is not likely to be able to facilitate yet another prison escape.
