– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry News
Quincy city officials would appear to have provided signage favoritism for one of duly embattled Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s childhood friends.
As in common in many municipalities, the City of Quincy officially requires that commercial buildings remove identifying any and all signage identifying tenant in the building whenever tenant moves out of the building, especially if said tenant is presented as essentially the name for the building.
After all, this only makes sense should someone be looking for the tenant for whatever reasons.
Case in point, the City of Boston’s iconic John Hancock Tower had to change its name after the John Hancock Insurance Company moved out of the building and the current owners of the building have since opted to rename it 200 Clarendon, the actual address of the building.
Not that anyone is referring to it 200 Clarendon, however.
In turn, while nowhere near as tall, the also glass featuring Daniel J. Flynn and Company building in Quincy Center also no longer appears to have its signature tenant in the building.
In fact, per Quincy Quarry’s investigations, it appears that Daniel J. Flynn and Company, Inc., has both transmogrified into Flynn Auctions as well as relocated to Boston.
Quincy Quarry also has reason to suspect that a further relocation to as an yet undisclosed location could perhaps result given due process.
The Quarry considered reaching out to Mr. Flynn for clarification; however, it understands that he is both not talking any questions absent presence of legal counsel as well as is even more unavailable than usual.
The Quarry also considered reaching out to Mr. Flynn’s long time Quincy St. Patrick’s Day brunch co-host, Sheanac the Ridiculous; however, the also City of Quincy City Clerk, who technically oversees commercial signage, is known to be camera shy and especially so whenever it comes to media scrutiny of him or his immediate family.
Quincy Quarry also considering reaching out to duly embattled Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch as he is close friend of Mr. Flynn since they were children. However, however, it was anticipated that the mayor will take no more questions other than when perhaps compelled to do so under oath about his relationship with Flynn in the wake of prior problematic media coverage of his generous past dealings with Flynn using taxpayers’ money.
Expect Quincy Quarry to continue to follow this latest story of preferential intrigue in the Q to a likely verdict, if not multiple verdicts.
