– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry
Quincy Center civic buildings and local streets snow clearing practices are about to face their first real test of this so far wicked easy winter season.
While the shoveling was already done before 10 AM on Sunday at what’s left of fire-ravaged City Hall after a but light overnight dusting after Friday night to Saturday morning’s perhaps several inch snowfall, the expected Blizzard of 2015 coming to New England Monday evening will surely prove to be a true challenge of local snow clearing workers.
In the meanwhile, why yet again clearing City Hall’s entrance first thing Sunday morning was such a prime priority for City workers after such a modest overnight dusting when City Hall would be closed until 8:30 AM on Monday continues to be inexplicable.
Then again, just about everything that goes on in and around City Hall has been pretty much inexplicable in rational terms for at least the past 7 years.

Further inexplicable, patrons of the open on Sunday main library were yet again again left to trudge through the snow and as documented yet again by one of Quincy Quarry’s likely to be crack-addled photographers.
Accordingly, with a likely to be major blizzard about to hit the Northeast, Quincy Quarry has thus duly prepared its staff, including issuing triple rations of its usually more than generous supply of brandy so as to fortify its personnel cover this storm event as only the Quarry can do.
Only whether – or not – Quincy Quarry will also be able to document certain City of Quincy DPW personnel long suspected to also be similarly well-fortified remains to be seen.
The Quarry has, however, already seen that the City’s snow removal workers have not undertaken their previous typical level of brine applications on the streets or rock salt spreading.

Valid concerns over this latest inexplicable diversion from sound practices notwithstanding, Quincy Quarry did not bother to seek comment from City Hall or Department of Public Works Commissioner Dan “Spanky” Raymondi as to why as it knew that no comments would be tendered.
In any event, Quincy residents should plan on yet another long and cold winter during the era of the Koch Maladministration.
