– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry News
Quincy Park and Forestry Department finally showed up on January 15 to relieve Santa and Frosty from serving duty out in the cold until next year.
This long overdue effort follows Quincy Quarry pointing out that Santa, Frosty and the City-owned and thus long controversial crèche have been left out long past the holiday season.

Quincy Quarry cannot claim any influence on City Hall.  Even so, the Quarry must still note that – amazingly – for a change that no obvious overtime appears to at least so far have been awarded to a likely hand-picked clean-up crew as long suspected to usually be the case and in spite of union contract obligations to provide overtime opportunities on a rotating as well as thus fair basis to any and all appropriate city workers.
Even so, given Quincy Quarry’s many hard-hitting exposés exposing Koch Maladministration waste and worse, one cannot help but assume that perhaps even it has finally at least endeavored to affect cleaning up its sorry act.
In the rush to file this story, Quincy Quarry was also unable to stick around long enough to find out if the controversial crèche is also slated to be finally be taken down today, almost 10 past past Epiphany.
Considering its long history of suffering cherub and Wise Men nappings, one can only wonder why city officials have left the crèche in place, especially in light of the recent terrorist tragedies in Paris.

After all, crime in Quincy has taken interesting turns in recent days.
For but one example from among many, the Quincy Police Department’s de facto substation at the original Dunkin’ Donuts was recently caught apparently unmanned and thus unprotected when it is was hit by what was fortunately a hopelessly, if not also hysterically, bungled robbery attempt.
As per standard practice, Quincy Quarry saw no point in reaching out to Quincy Chief and mayoral brother-in-law Paul “The Beav” Keenan as to whether – or not – the Quincy Police Department has identified a suspect, especially as the department has yet to publicly identify a suspect in the City Hall fire almost four months ago after that entirely avoidable tragedy struck.
