Americans are moving at historically low rates.
Just as Quincy is seeing its residential housing capacity increase by roughly five percent over the course of around a handful of years, younger Americans expected to fill many of these mostly premium price for Quincy residences are not moving all that often.
Then again, neither are other age demographics moving as much as they used to do.
For example, in 2017, 34.9 million Americans changed residences, translating to a household mobility rate of 10.9%.
That’s the lowest mobility – or “moving rate” – that the United States has seen since the Census Bureau started keeping track of such date more than 50 years ago.
