“The main union representing around 300 journalists and the business side employees at the Boston Globe are planning a lunchtime walkout on Tuesday to protest slow progress on contract negotiations,” reports the Boston Business Journal purported care of an email shared with the journal.

Conversely, Quincy Quarry continues to enjoy peace and harmony with its personnel.

Granted, no hardworking employee feels that she or he is duly paid enough, Quincy Quarry management understands the positive influence liberal bar tab allowances at its unofficial watering hole and an office refrigerator well-stocked with cold libations can have on staff morale even if editing as well as overall productivity take hits. 

Additionally, given that broadsheet owner John Henry is also the controlling shareholder of the Boston Red Sox and beer sales are surely important to the Sox’s bottom line, both Quincy Quarry labor relations as well as financial and other affairs desks are surprised that Mr. Henry has not duly considered the potential benefits of beer as regards securing labor peace at the broadsheet.
