Quincy police pull out of Squantum homicide investigation.

As was exclusively predicted earlier this week by Quincy Quarry, the Quincy Police Department has stepped away from this homicide investigation and turned over all related materials to the Norfolk County District Attorney as well as handed off the police investigation to the state police.

At the same time, the police department failed to duly offer a proper and full explanation as to why it is walking away from this police investigation.

Omerta?
A Quincy Quarry News file photo

As reported by Quincy Quincy previously, word on the street has it that there are purported conflicts of interest for the police department in this tragedy and which the Quarry has noted should have behooved the department to step aside much sooner, especially as word on the street has also rumored both the name of a suspect and who is further said to have alreadly lawyered up but who has yet to be either arrested or turned himself in to authorities.

Now, however, announcement of recusal of a sort announced on a Friday before the Super Bowl is hard to not suspect is a ploy to see minimal media focus on this possible scandal as locals focus on the game.

That and so also allow city officials to have the weekend to attempt to figure out how to endeavor to spin out of recriminations when things hit the fan as is looking to be ever increasingly looking likely.

In the meanwhile, count on Quincy Quarry to see that this matter is both duly as well as as widely exposéd as possible as things continue to hit the fan.

At this point, the Quarry is also going to go out on a limb and suggest that it appears that this latest looking likely to hit the fan disquieting case of multiple-faceted shortcomings at the Quincy Police Department should behoove its Chief of Police and mayoral brother in law Paul “The Beav” Keenan to finally bite the bullet and at least retire.

Time to go, retire – whatever …

That and how an outside review of the operation of a department with a history of incidents of sloppy management and arguable lookings the other way appears to be mandatory if for no other reasons than to uncast unfair shading upon hard-working and law-abiding members of the department who abide by the rules.
