Kentucky police officers grieve doughnuts lost during a New Year’s Eve doughnut truck fire.

Lexington Police Department officers responded to a New Year’s Eve truck fire that had engulfed a Kristy Kreme delivery truck.

In turn, even experienced officers responding to the scene were reduced to tears.

Shows of support from other police departments were quick to follow.

“In this line of work, some things can’t be unseen,” Officer Morton wrote. “My thoughts are with @lexkypolice officers at this time of tragedy.”

Fortunately, it turned out that the truck was not carrying any doughnuts as it had finished up its delivery route for the day when the fire broke out.

Even so, Quincy Quarry hopes that grief counselors were made available to impacted officers as lingering effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can be pernicious.
