L. L. Bean Ends Lifetime Satisfaction Guarantee – Social Media Blamed.

L. L. Bean’s legendary lifetime satisfaction guarantee is no more.

L. L. Bean founder Leon Leonwood Bean established the guarantee so as to make good after 90% of his initial batch of the iconic Maine Hunting Shoe boots proved defective.

In turn, his lifetime satisfaction guarantee fueled lifetimes of customers’ loyalty.

In recent years, however, social media scum have – as often been the case – ruined things for everyone else by encouraging some to variously abuse the guarantee.

Examples of abuse include customers who look to have returned L. L. Bean products over apparent dissatisfaction that their children had outgrown them or worn them out.
