West Virginia Governor Jim Justice, a billionaire businessman with interests in coal and agriculture, won election in November running as a Democrat. 

 

Yesterday, however, he announced that he was changing his allegiance to the Republican Party at a Trump rally in Huntington West Virginia.

With West Virginia Governor Jim Justice changing his party affiliation to the Republican Party, there are now 34 Republican governors, 15 Democrats and one independent.

 

Republicans thus now also control both the legislature and the governorship in twenty-six of the fifty states. 

 

Further, Republicans are now the majority party in the state legislatures of five more states which have Democratic governors.

 

That and the Republicans control both the US Congress and the White House.
