United States Marine Corps votes to exit Department of the Navy in a vote similar to this week’s referendum in Britain calling for the United Kingdom to exit the European Union.
In an as yet more fully covered story, The United States Marine Corps in a vote eerily similar to this week’s so-called “Britex” referendum in Britain calling for the United Kingdom to exit the European Union, the Corps has voted to exit the United States Navy via its own Semperfuxit remain or leave vote.

For those not familiar with the Few and the Proud, the Marines Corps has long been a manner of stepchild technically under the control of Department of the Navy – as if anyone could keep control over U.S. Marines – as well as often stuck with hand me downs as well as usually the last to receive new things that go boom in the night.
Ironically at the time of this vote, a Marine general is the current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, former Marine Commandant General Joseph F. Dunford, Jr.
Even more ironic as well as so providing a local angle, General Dunfort is a Quincy native.
Quincy Quarry considered reaching out to General Dunfort for comment on the Semperfuxit vote, but figured that he more than had his hands full dealing with the marines looking to go on leave, much less running the Pentagon.
In the meanwhile, as well as eerily mirroring the British stock market in the wake of the Britex vote, American defense contractor stocks closed down sharply in the wake of the marine vote telling the Navy to shove off.
