Rockland town administrator on leave amid investigation of purported assignation in Town Hall.

Four of the town’s five selectmen gathered Tuesday night and voted immediately to move their meeting behind closed doors in what’s known as “executive session.”

Rockland Town Administrator Allan R. Chiocca has been placed on paid administrative leave while an external investigation looks into “serious allegations against certain town officials” is underway according to Town Solicitor John Clifford said on Tuesday.

To date, the allegations have been variously reported as entailing extramarital activity inside of Rockland’s Town Hall after a late night at a local watering hole and which may have been recorded by the Town Hall’s security system.

Rocking in Rockland Town Hall?

Solicitor Clifford added that the four of the five members of the Rockland Board of Selectmen have decided to hire attorney Regina Ryan of Discrimination and Harassment Solutions, LLC to look into the allegations.

The fifth board member – Vice Chair and Quincy native Deidre Hall, however, was missing for the second straight emergency Selectmen meeting.

Solicitor Clifford would not comment on why Mrs. Hall was neither at this emergency meeting nor the previous one held last week.

While Quincy Quarry as well as surely many other enquiring minds want to know© and are thus awaiting release of the minutes of the Rockland Selectmen’s two recent closed doors executive session meetings per applicable Open Meeting statutes and regulations, the Quarry is in the meanwhile endeavoring to confirm as yet unofficial word that Mrs. Hall will be dropping out of the race for the Fifth District of Plymouth State Representative seat currently held by David DeCoste (Republican, Norwell).

UPDATE: Rockland Selectman Deidre Hall officially announces that she is dropping out of the Fifth District of Plymouth State Representative race.
