Quincy’s long burned-out Masonic Temple now haunted?

The Quincy chapter of the Masons was laid to waste by fire almost exactly three and a half years ago as well as remains to this very day a burned-out hulk.

There have been rumors of a sale of the property.

At the same time, however, Quincy Quarry could not find any sign of a recent sale per its reviews of the City of Quincy property database, the City Assessor’s records or the online files of the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds.

Rather, at most, the only thing that the Quarry could so discover was that a municipal tax lien was slapped on the property just last week.

Then again, it is only proper for Quincy Quarry to note that “slow” filings of property transfers in Massachusetts are not only not unheard of, some real estate players have all but made it an art form to hold off on duly filing property transfer documents with the appropriate public officials.

There have also been as yet unconfirmed reports of sightings of workers working on the building as well as a recent shooting of the building during an alleged attempt to rob a drug dealer.

What is apparent, however, is the appearance of the possible haunting of the building.

Per a local photographer, there now exist eerie photographs taken inside of the burned out building which suggest the possibility of demonic possession, phantom residency or at the very least the simply spooky.

What is to come of the imposing building is thus still uncertain, various rumors floating about notwithstanding.

In the meanwhile, one cannot help but find the current situation haunting, if not also troubling that it is has been allowed to remain a burned out as well as spooky hulk of blight for so long.

Then again, when it comes to the Q, it’s not what you know but rather who you know.
