While a traditional regional harbinger of spring — the reporting of Boston Red Sox pitchers and catchers for Spring Training — is today, Quincy continues to be impacted by snow piles.

Granted, while snow piles are not necessarily as painful as medical piles, piles are still piles.

Moreover, the current forecast for tonight for the Metro Boston area is two to four inches of wet and thus heavy snow instead of the light and easier fluff that has fallen in recent weeks.

Needless to say, clearing wet and thus heavy snow pose other sorts of medical issues for already long enough suffering locals who have suffered variable snow removal on a number of local streets and most especially residential streets in recent weeks.

So-so plowed, left; better plowed, right

On the other hand, per an admittedly less than comprehensive review by Quincy Quarry News personnel, the streets and sidewalks around local schools would appear to have been accorded more thorough clearings even if less than what has consistently been applied to Kim Jong Koch Plaza in front of Quincy’s two city halls..

Accordingly, helicopter parents can drop off and pick up their children at their schools so that their kids do not have to risk traveling on often enough less than cleared and thus dangerous sidewalks or risk walking on less the less than widely plowed sides of local streets.

Needless to say, with the latest storm expected to commence during the evening commute today and then continue until a bit after closing time, Quincy locals should prepare for the worst and hope for something a bit less bad.
