Business as usual

Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch to present the mostly annual State Of The City address Monday evening, not that one would know it from the City of Quincy’s official website.

In any event, the speech is scheduled for 7pm in the Quincy High School auditorium.

In turn, many a city employee will have to wolf down a quick dinner after a day dining at the public trough and then head out into currently forecast to be frigid 22° or even cdder winter night and so face snow-impacted and icy streets so that the Koch Machine can paper the house with as many claques as possible to be at the ready to applaud on cue.

Needless to say, those filling seats up front should wear older coats that are moisture-resistant as well as not easily stained by overripe produce along with machine washable to clean raw egg.

And as for the topics presented, what with the city’s finances in tatters, onerous property tax bills imposed up local property owners given a record breaking going away nearly 14% spending increase by the mayor this fiscal year, the touts in the Quincy Quarry News newsroom are instead seeing the most action for extended eulogies of recently departed former Quincy mayors Jim Sheets and Arthur Tobin so as to change the subject.

Also seeing serious action on problematic Polymarket is that the mayor will also be talking up new redevelopment projects in Quincy Center even though the incentives provided to the developers by Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch and city spending on infrastructure are sure to add to Mayor Koch’s Quincy Center redevelopment of Quincy Center coming up short financially and so further sticking local taxpayers citywide with covering a surely worsening from already expected negative.
