— Quincy Massachusetts News by Quincy Quarry News – News, Opinion and Commentary.
Quincy wildlife are likely if not in fact probably enjoying today’s designed Snow Day as are close to ten thousand local public school students.
For example, one of Quincy Quarry News’ Citizen Videographers digitally captured Wile E. Coyote making a snow angel in the vicinity of John Adams’ Peace Field House on Adams Street as the snowfall was abating,
Road Runner, however, was nowhere to be seen.
Also not seen was much seen in the way of brine and salt ore-treatment equipment rolling on local streets during the day on Sunday leading up to the storm per what the Quarry has been advised by its readership in spite of a storm forecast that the storm would dump the most snowfall experienced in Eastern Massachusetts in four years.
Then again, the storm was ramping up around kick-off time for the NFL’s AFC Championship game.
A game which the New England Patriots won in a 10 to 7 snow fight of a cliffhanger of an away game for the Patriots played in less stormy Denver, Colorado.
While Patriots fans were overjoyed by the win, those tasked with shoveling snow during half time as well as after the game along with parents facing two days of school snow days are surely feeling the opposite about the snow, if not very much so.
Especially for parents who are looking at being stuck with children underfoot 24/7 for four and a half days.
Conversely, rookie New York City Mayor and Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani saw to it that New York City cleaned up in a day.such that its public schools will be able to reopen tomorrow.
In short, about the only upside for the Koch Maladministration is that Washington DC area public schools are expected to be closed for much of the week so that they can dig out after a snowfall less than half that which hit the Greater Boston Metro Area.
After all, one would think that having all day today to clear fluffy snow locally would be relatively easy given a likely surfeit of snowblowers forward deployed at local schools and plow trucks able to roll to wherever they are needed.
Others are feeling similarly, albeit for different reasons.
For example, while a number of local streets were said to be mostly cleared, at least some side streets were to this point less than well=plowed.
Specifically, plowing was often less than merely but approaching a from curb to curb clearing in spite of a snow emergency parking ban along the even address numbered side of local streets
Similarly, reports from Houghs Neck reprised the usual cold tales of woe about it suffering snow-clogged streets and such.
Further, while Merrymount saw its a number of its streets plowed down to the pavement, the plowing was less than curb to curb as well as some blocks lost power.
Further, West Quincy suffered rough sledding.
In short, as well as yet again Only in Quincy ….
