Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch gobsmaking as well as ignorant views about the Roman Catholic Church’s horrific child sex abuse scandal as well as his non-apology about stating them continue to cause him fully deserved as well as continuing grief.
The latest round of grief was an hours-long protest in front of Quincy’s City Hall by survivors of sexual abuse by priests and their advocates.
In turn, yet again regional broadcast media came to Quincy to cover this latest round of only properly taking Mayor Koch to well-deserved task.
Examples of the media coverage can be read here and here as well as viewed below.
.
Unknown at this point, however, is if and then when both offended as well as outraged local teachers and LGPTQ+ people opt to organize their own protests over Koch’s inane comments and then his repeated foisting of a non-apology apology.
Further unknown is if a recall petition might be launched over this, other, and impending things hitting the fan that clearly question Mayor Koch’s fitness for office.
As a former coach for Quincy Youth Sports many years ago and a current Gay man, I find the Mayor’s remarks both appalling and ignorant.
People should realize what this man is espousing: hate, sexism, Homophobia, and worst of all an uneducated bigot. (a Quincy Jr College DROP-OUT.)
It will be quite telling to hear what his ball – washers on the city council have to say about their peerless leader.
It is an election year!!
Do you really want our esteemed Mayor Koch to resign or otherwise not continue to be Mayor of The City of Presidents? Just get the IRS to come in and audit his personal finances and income tax returns. After all, that is how they put away Al Capone. Come to think of it, if you look at photos of Mayor Koch and Al Capone side by side, don’t you see a striking resemblance?
In addition to the IRS it would be very interesting if Diana DiZoglio could audit the city’s finances.
John,
State Auditor DiZoligo can unleash her highly capable staff to audit the city’s finances operations should City Hall opt to ask her to do so AND pay less to much less for the work than what for profit auditors would charge for likely less expert work, not that such precursors are likely to happen.
On the other hand, all the feds need to do so is probable cause.
