Last week Quincy Quarry features featured bad taste and cold weather.

The bad taste?

Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s new gateway to Heaven at the less used or at least unsafe to use entrance way to Quincy’s Mount Wollaston Cemetery and which has long been better known by those in the know in Quincy as Ward 7.

Locals’ reactions for the most part have ranged from appalled to outraged by just how out of context to arguably tacky is the gate.

That and serious outrage over how much Federal COVID recovery money was spent on it as there are so many other far better uses of the funds burned in “Gategate.”

Then again, it’s not like Mayor Koch doesn’t have a serious inflammatory jones when it comes to spending other people’s money on Edifice Complexes.

Further incendiary is how the new gateway is rife with religious adornments and so posing another arguable violation by Koch of federal and state constitutional mandates for the separation of church and state

In any event as well as at the essentially the same time, Quincy Quarry News also addressed how winter has lingered while spring has at best teased us.

Then again, the same can yet again be said about the Red Sox after teasing us with a relatively hot start and which then went cold.
