Paddy Barry, one of the few remaining purveyors of adult libations where a working class bloke can enjoy a pint of Guinness at a reasonable price in a welcoming little pub in Quincy Center, has been facing eviction by koched-up out of town Soviet émigré developers who themselves lost their own liquor license recently after years of operating disorderly and at times violent operations tied to their license.
Now at this point the plight of Paddy Barry — and which has conversely long been a law-abiding and thus respectable establishment — has become an international cause célèbre as its plight approaches a court date care of coverage out of the old sod.

Not these schmeckles yet again ….”

Needless to say, the ever-growing legions of loyal Quincy Quarry News readers can count on the Quarry to continue to report on this long ongoing story for both good reasons as well as that further coverage of this ongoing Quarry story will surely entail downing at least a pint or three to gather more background material for even more Quarry coverage.
In the meanwhile, do note that care of Quincy Quarry News’ wide array of sources that it would appear that the pub’s Soviet émigré landlords are looking at a focán in court soon enough for trying to improperly evict a respectable and rent-paying commercial tenant with a lease.
How Much Longer Will The Idiots That Vote For Him Not Understand That He Doesn’t Care About What The People Say? He Is Only Making His Bank Account Fat!!!! Pretty Sad When He Is A For Himself leader!!!!! What About Veterans Who Are Homeless Or In The Grip Of Addiction? Where Is The Help For Them?
He Is Only Worried About His Bank Account And Taking Care Of Himself
Too bad no one will run against him.
Quincy has had a Koch Problem for years. We all read about it and somehow he gets re-elected time and time again.
Does he manipulate the ballot box or is it that he won’t allow the hiring of a City employee who doesn’t have a herd of family with Blue-juiced loyalty to Tommy Taxes. At least it’s nice to know that his Sacred Heart buddies are failing him again and again (Tom Clasby, Dan Flynn, et. al.). Who’s next???
Quincy needs a DOGE audit but Tommy Taxes would probably not survive it.
Maybe the ACLU will end the Blue Goo. City Solicitor Timmons is in way over his head and will have to hire outside Counsel (yet again) to play this one out. How much is this one going to cost taxpayers. When are we going to be done paying for lawsuits that the City cannot win? Timmons is known as 0’fer. He walks into a court room and court personnel just sigh. I wonder if he can ever practice law after his BS representing Tommy’s follies. He certainly is not a real estate developer and proves it daily on his family’s outsized Sea St. project.
Doge audit, nice.
Quincy—where the real estate scene is just a never-ending soap opera starring Mayor Koch’s developer buddies. This time, we’ve got a beloved local pub getting evicted by a group of Soviet émigré developers who, in a truly poetic twist, lost their own liquor license for cause. You really can’t make this stuff up.
And now, because Quincy corruption apparently has international appeal, this mess is making headlines beyond our little city. Maybe that’s what happens when you mix shady business dealings with a splash of hypocrisy and serve it up with a garnish of pure Koch-era nonsense.
The best part? These developers are out here trying to act like they’re the wronged party—as if they didn’t already fumble their own liquor license situation and somehow think that makes them qualified to dictate who gets to run a successful bar. It’s like a chef who burned down their own restaurant insisting they should be in charge of the Michelin Guide.
Meanwhile, Koch’s City Hall remains conveniently silent, because when you let developers run wild, the only real rule is: don’t embarrass the boss too much. But hey, now that this is going global, maybe someone will finally notice that Quincy’s real estate “planning” is basically just a get-rich-quick scheme for the mayor’s inner circle. Cheers to that!
