Quincy Quarry News Weekly Fish Wrap: Is Flounder floundering?
The past week got off to a gobsmacking start at Monday night’s City Council meeting.
So much so that Quincy Quarry News is still working on how to recap what was a flaming hot guano show.
For example, Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch’s Chief of Staph Pinocchio Walkbacker put it on the record that his boss was the one who made the call to put Roman Catholic saints on the impending new police headquarters.
Unclear, however, if a key objective of the chief of staph’s presentation was actually a ham-fisted attempt to be able to endeavor to pose his comments as hearsay when things likely end up in court.
In any event, essentially all major Greater Boston media covered this council meeting with the coverage by Boston 25 at least generally consistent with the coverage of its media brethren.
Inexcusable not withstanding, the City of Quincy City Council president was instead outraged over someone anonymously dropping a dime to the Patriot Ledger rather than about the mayor’s clear failure to abide by his oath of office to abide by the law of the land.
The council president was also outraged by deserved callings out of him by locals attending the meeting who would appear fed up with the nonsense to outright abuses committed by city officials.
So what, apparently, for the fact that doing so would clearly appear to be abjectly unconstitutional and thus the America Civil Liberties Union has stepped up to the plate.
That and the readily argued concurrent wasteful misappropriation of taxpayers’ money by Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch.
Speaking of the misappropriation of taxpayers’ money, on Thursday past the Massachusetts Inspector General banged the longtime mayor of Everett for allegedly enhancing his salary improperly by a total of $180,000.
How does this tie to Quincy?
Quincy Mayor Koch is under review over his endeavoring to score himself as much as $635,000 in improperly enhanced salary.
In short — as well as yet again, Only in Quincy …
I hope the next video shows the “president” pitch a fit, have a tantrum, and walk out of the “chamber”.

The level of sanctimonious tripe from the councilors was high and thick at that meeting.
Something particularly noteworthy was ward heeler Dave McCarthy stating that the statues of Michael and Florian did not have a religious connotation, only to in the next sentence note them as the patron Saints of the firefighters and police officers.
Further, Council President Ian Cain was so full of himself to the point of overflowing with arrogance.
