— Quincy Massachusetts News by Quincy Quarry News – News, Opinion and Commentary
What with this week school vacation week, the Quincy Quarry News crew throttled back.
In turn, things thus hit the fan.
For Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch, that is.
As was expected but not for a while, on Friday past the Massachusetts chapter of the American Civil Liberty Union fired a shot across Mayor Koch’s bow over his taking liberties with public funds to commission statues of Roman Catholic saints planned by him to adore the impending new City of Quincy public safety building.

So what for the fact that Mayor Koch’s planning to do so is proscribed by the US Constitution, considerable case law, and in particular as cited by the ACLU also Article 2 in the Massachusetts Declaration of Rights and which oh so ironically was written by Quincy native John Adams.
In turn as well as needless to say, this coming Monday’s night City Council meeting should prove to the an epic display of wicked amusing bad political kabuki as both city councillors and administration officials will likely be scurrying about like cockroaches when one turns on the lights on around midnight or thereabouts in a kitchen in a tenement.
The logical conclusion to this bizarre chapter will be the Lord Mayor commissioning a statue of himself thumbing his nose at the citizens of Quincy.
It is par for the course that our beloved City of Quincy Council President at Monday night’s City Council meeting was outraged that Quincy residents showed up for the meeting who are outraged about the atrocious antics occurring in Quincy regarding how their tax payments are being spent and which the City of Quincy Council allows to continue.
