Quincy Quarry News personnel out and about midday on Christmas Eve happened upon yet another snow job by the Koch Maladministration as well as another committed by its minions on Kim Jong Koch Plaza’s Snow Team Six.
First up, the denizens of City Hall cut and ran at noon for this year’s midweek Christmas holiday, if not sooner for at least some.
Then again, City Hall is not exactly a place where heavy lifting — much less sweating from physical labor — happens.
For example, while there was the usual snow clearing down to the pavement around City Hall, there were shortcomings.
For example, many local residential streets were hockey rinks given no plowing and/or salting as locals know all too often do not happen around Quincy.
At the same time, for a change Kim Jong Koch Plaza Snow Team Six also looks to have snow jobbed things here and there along the plaza.
Case in point: not clearing away Christmas Eve’s midday snow dusting around John Hancock’s statute.
Then again, Hancock left Quincy for Boston in his youth so swive him.
Plus, what is a snow job without an offsetting shuck and jive — especially when it comes to most everything tied to Quincy’s City Hall?
For example, the $65,000 or thereabouts retail leather upholstered black Chevy Tahoe Secret Service Edition that is de facto designated city ride for Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch use was cleared of snow — if not also all but detailed by someone — even though it will likely not be going anywhere until Thursday morning at the likely earliest given a day off holiday on Christmas Day.
After all, nothing is too good for Tommy Tax and Spend!
Nothing whatsoever other than the 89% raise for Tommy whichthe Massachusetts Ethics Commission has put on hold while it decides how to spank the mayor and city councillors over their again approving themselves raises in clearly apparent violation of Massachusetts General Law.
In any event, as apparent violations of Massachusetts General Law pile up, so too do snow piles along Kim Jong Koch Plaza as the plaza’s design and/or its grounds maintenance plans do not include implementing a proper snow management plan.
Then again, City Hall is not exactly known for coming up with plans.
Not effective — much less cost-effective — ones anyway.
Accordingly, not only is snow piling up along Kim Jong Koch Plaza, so too increasing piling up is city debt and other expenses that mostly local taxpayers will end up having to cover even if much of debt incurred ends up benefiting mostly the usual special interests
After all, nothing is too expensive for Quincy’s peerless free spending mayor to impose upon local taxpayers.
How many city workers are taking home cars now? How many police department employees are taking home cars? Are they claiming the cars on their taxes? I have seen workers using the cars for errands, doctor appointments, funerals, wakes…. This means they must claim the car as income. Be interesting to see since the taxpayers are paying for the cars and the fuel. What about Police cruisers on details? Are the companies being billed? Are the companies paying the fuel costs or are the taxpayers? The taxpayers in Quincy are being fleeced. Quincy Quarry should do some inquiries and find out how many public vehicles are going home at night to personal residences.
Quincy is where winter storms aren’t the only thing snowing us over. The ‘Snow Job Cut and Run’ is a masterpiece of modern municipal choreography: a dazzling pirouette of budget spending increases followed by a graceful slide into chaos. Honestly, the city’s snow removal strategy seems less like a plan and more like a Hallmark movie plot—complete with a handful of under-worked plows, a sprinkle of misplaced priorities, and the heartwarming belief that salt shortages build community spirit. At least they’re consistent: when the snow starts falling, so do the excuses. Stay frosty, Quincy.
