The ultimate sacrifice entails many other losses

The few, the proud, the relentless.

Veteran’s Day is preceded by a day by the anniversary of the establishment of the United States Marines Corps.

This year the Corps turns 249 and yet many of its active duty and reserve troops are typically in their twenties and thirties.

The Marine Corps is the fourth largest branch of the United States’ six uniformed military services as well as are the Pentagon’s jack of all trades for smaller but still just as often hard to harder fought assignments.

In turn, United States Marines have a proud history of fighting well above their weight class with typically lighter munitions than Army troops.

Such has long been been accomplished via demanding training and high esprit de corps as well as more recently enhanced by the Marine Corps’ embracing of the MacGyver Ethos when it comes to figuring out how to make much out of little.

That and their own unique take on partying.

After all, war is Hell on earth.
